On Wednesday, February 15, Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) will host a free CPR education class at 6pm in AC Conference Rooms 1 and 2 at the St. Luke’s Campus, 1656 Champlin Avenue, Utica. Those interested in learning how to do CPR, administer choking relief or operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) are invited to attend.

Reservations for this class are required. Please call (315) 624-4913 by Wednesday, Feburary 8, to reserve your seat.

This community education class is an all-in-one training session that teaches individuals basic skills in adult hands-only CPR, child CPR and choking relief for adults and children. The class will also cover general AED information and how to recognize symptoms of heart attack and stroke.

Participants will be given a “Friends and Family CPR Anytime Kit,” which uses the American Heart Association’s (AHA) “practice while watching technique.” This method encourages users to watch and learn lifesaving skills while practicing on a personal manikin. Please note completion of this does not result in AHA CPR certification.

FSLH is dedicated to providing quality community education programs. This event is part of a series of education programs for the community on health-related topics, including wellness screenings and proper nutrition.
